Michalis Riginos is Emeritus Professor in the Department of Economics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens University where he teaches Economic and social history since 1991. In 1977 he graduated from the Department of Economics at the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) and he continued his studies in Economic and Social History at the University Paris I (Pantheon- Sorbonne) where he obtained his Ph.D.
From 1987 to 1991 he worked as a researcher in the Historical Archive of the National Bank of Greece. During the period 2013-18 he was Member of the Scientific Committee of the Parliamentary Budget Office at the Hellenic Parliament. Since 2020 is Member of the Board of the Centre of Planning and Economic Research (KEPE).
His current research work refers to the history of the Athens Stock Exchange, 1876- 1967.
He has made more than 40 publications in academic journals and has publishes 4 books.
