NATIONAL PRODUCTIVITY BOARD<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Greek National Productivity Board (NPB) was established in April 2019 by the Greek government (Law 4605\/2019, article 37) on the basis of its autonomy and academic excellence for the \u201charmonization of Greek legislation with Directive (EU) 2016\/943 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 8 June 2016 \u2026 and the adoption of measures to accelerate the work of the Ministry of Economy and Development\u201d, in cooperation with the respective European National Productivity\/Competitiveness Boards.

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

 It functions within the structure of the Centre of Planning and Economic Research (KEPE), which was established in 1959 and is the largest research institute in economic sciences in Greece, without any special funding for its operation. Its main activities include (a) the measurement of productivity and competitiveness, (b) the identification of driving forces and impeding factors of productivity growth, and (c) the formulation and evaluation of policies that can enhance productivity and competitiveness of the Greek economy at the national, regional and sectoral levels.<\/span><\/p>\n
