Dr. Nikolaos Georgikopoulos, KEPE research associate and visiting research professor at New York University - Stern School of Business, participated as a keynote speaker in the conference:The 3rd Nicosia Economic Congress. The conference took place at the Hilton Park Hotel in Nicosia on May 22, 2013.


Dr. Nikolaos Georgikopoulos compared the similarities and differences of the Cypriot and Greek financial crises. Drawing upon recent lessons from the Greek sovereign debt crisis and its impact on the Greek financial system, he analysed important economic and financial issues regarding how to achieve the necessary stability of the banking system while ensuring the liquidity required for economic growth in Cyprus.
