2005 Distinction of our senior research fellow, K. Kanellopoulos
A DISTINCTION OF OUR SENIOR RESEARCH FELLOW, K. KANELLOPOULOS, BY THE ACADEMY OF ATHENS
During its December 29, 2005 festive session, the Academy of Athens awarded the University Professor Charalambos G. Sepentzis Foundation prize to the book Education and Labour Market authored by Konstantinos N. Kanellopoulos, a Senior Research Fellow at KEPE KEPE, Konstantinos G. Mavromaras, Professor at Melbourne University, and Theodore M. Mitrakos, Economist at the Bank of Greece, as the “best scientific study in the field of the science of economics”, published between January 1, 2002 to December 12, 2004.
The excerpt of the Moral and Political Sciences Order of the Academy of Athens, which was delivered at the prize-award ceremony, quotes “the prize-awarded study refers to a significant structural problem:the relationship between education and labour market in Greece. It examines topics that are useful for policy implementation in a sector of strategic importance for the country’s development, makes recommendations regarding regulations on specific issues, but above all, it provides ground for discussion on the modernisation of the educational structures”.
The conferred prize is accompanied by a monetary award of 10.000 euro to the authors.
This book was first published in KEPE’s Studies Series in 2003 and was reprinted in 2004.
