Our senior research fellow, Dr. Prodromos Prodromidis, participates in the workgroup meeting called by the Regional Administration of Western Macedonia regarding a KEPE study on the economic consequences of possible traffic restrictions enforced on the Servia High Bridge (Greece’s second-longest bridge) to carry out repair work.

 

The meeting was chaired by governor George Amanatidis, and was attended by the deputy governor, the vice governors for the regional unit of Kozani, and for entrepreneurship & transportation, the region’s executive secretary, the director of technical services, the heads for transportation works, and for planning and support systems, the mayors of Kozani, Servia, and Velventos, the deputy mayor of Servia, the head of the Neraida community; the police director, the traffic police commander, the director of primary education, the deputy director of secondary education, the chamber of commerce, and the bus company presidents of the Kozani regional unit; the presidents of the commerce associations of Aiani, of Ptolemais, and of Velventos, of the two agricultural associations of Velventos, of the Tranovaltos marble quarrying cooperative, and of the Mining-Commercial-Technical SA; and by other members of the above municipalities and associations.

 

The participants shared information, experiences, and opinions, and P. Prodromidis explained KEPE’s role, the study’s proposed phases, and statistical aspects.
