THE LINEUP PROJECT

Since February 2024, KEPE has been participating as a partner in the LineUp project within the framework of the European Union’s HORIZON Programme. KEPE researchers, together with distinguished colleagues from research institutions, universities, public authorities and institutions from six European countries (France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Portugal and Spain), form the working group. The project team members specialize in inequalities in education and contribute different skills and experiences in scientific fields such as statistics, demography, sociology, psychology and economics. The working group also includes scientists specialising in educational processes and educators.

The LineUp project aims to identify the key factors that contribute to the provision of quality education for all. This will be achieved through mapping existing longitudinal data on the learning outcomes of students in primary and secondary education, collecting new data through joint field research and analysing them. The project focuses, among others, on the educational performance of students, on the acquisition of basic/core skills as essential elements for their personal development, on their socialization and on active participation in civic life as outcomes of the educational process.

The primary objective of the project is to examine the possibility of enriching the available data by combining homogeneous sources from different countries, to improve our knowledge of the factors that shape educational outcomes and how they vary over time. This will make it possible to identify appropriate interventions, focusing on students, that will lead to improved educational outcomes and contribute to reducing early school leaving, issues that constitute key challenges across Europe.
